CBD Pumpkin Pie

Ingredients
• ¾ Cup Granulated Sugar
• 1 Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
• ½ Teaspoon of Salt
• ½ Teaspoon of Ground Ginger
• ¼ Teaspoon of Ground Cloves
• 3 Large Eggs
• 1 Can of Pumpkin Filling (15 oz.)
• 1 Can of Evaporated Milk (12 oz.)
• 1 Unbacked Pie Shell
Instructions
The main difference between a normal pumpkin pie recipe and one using CBD is temperature. High temperatures can reduce the efficacy of your CBD products, so instead of baking the pie at the normal 350 degrees Fahrenheit (177 degrees Celsius) for 40 to 50 minutes, you should instead go no higher than 300 degrees Fahrenheit (150 degrees C).
With the lower temperature you’ll also need to bake the pie for 55 minutes to an hour rather than 40 to 45 minutes. You should insert a knife in the center of the pie and keep baking until the knife comes out clean.
Preparing the Crust
Unlike most pumpkin pie recipes, you should bake the crust first at a higher temperature. Baking a cool crust along with the filling may require higher temperatures that would compromise the CBD-infused ingredients.
1. Preheat your oven to 425 degrees
2. Put your pie crust in a pie pan and glaze the crust with one of your egg yolks
3. Place another pie pan on top of the pie pan with the crust to allow it to bake evenly
4. Bake for 15 minutes
5. Remove the top pie pan and allow it to bake for another 5 or 10 minutes or until golden brown
6. Remove the crust from the oven and allow it to cool before adding the filling
The Pie Filling
While your crust is baking, you can mix the ingredients for the filling:
1. Mix the sugar, ginger, cloves, salt and cinnamon into a bowl
2. In a separate, larger bowl beat your two remaining eggs
3. Stir the pumpkin filling along with the spice and sugar mixture into the larger bowl with the eggs and mix
4. Add your desired amount of CBD oil to the evaporated milk.
5. While mixing, gradually pour the CBD-infused evaporated milk into the bowl with the sugar-spice blend and pumpkin filling
6. Once your crust has cooled you can add the filling to the crust
Baking Instructions
1. After your crust is done turn the oven down to 300 degrees (150 C). It’s important to let the oven cool down to that temperature before putting in your pie to prevent weakening the CBD
2. Once the oven has cooled to 300 degrees, put the pie in the oven and bake for 55 minutes to an hour
3. Your pie may take longer due to the lower temperature, so make sure to check the middle with a knife
